Casting -Cast past your target when this is possible. This will help land the lure on the water with as little noise as possible. -If it is windy, put tension on the line right before the lure touches down on the surface. What this does is straighten out the line and help prevent loose, excess line on the water. -Lower the lure just a few inches below the rod tip before you cast. What this does is give extra momentum for the cast. -Never overfill your spool. Ideally, you should fill the spool to an eighth of an inch of the edge of the spool.
